We ventured there on Sat. Sept 9th. This a lake we fish once a year just for the heck of it and it is know for its trout fishing and is stocked. I do not see it as a bass lake compared to what else  you can fish in Ohio.

Conditions were stained with high winds (of course) as the wind Gods chase us all over Ohio. We were getting a lot of hits on on plastic worms but only got one bass. All the others were caught on spinners or cranks. Shoreline is lined with weeds and lily pads and has decent depths near it. In the 10-12 range. The east side produced the best fish of the day. A nice 2.25 pounder on the scale that I would have guessed on girth was an easy 3. I have got to leave the digital scale home when we fish! It was taken on a Rebel Wee R in baby bass I have been staring at  in the tackle box all year, in 12 feet away from shore.  as a result I will be using it more. The other side produced a few smaller fish.

The state park is quite nice but I wouldn't give up a trip to Nimisila for it unless your taking the kids for a day out. There is a beach
